Hello Buckwheat LOL. No additional products just 21 braids from yesterday’s wash n go. Chunky in front and smaller. I like a defined back lol
Successful wash and go using curly girl method. I cowashed using VO5 moisture milks ( which is great for my hair but builds up on my scalp so back to the drawing board) I put Loreal Eversleek on to sit for 5 minutes. My hair has never felt softer. Then I rinsed and used loreal eversleek as my leave in as well. Just a small amount. I probably still used too much. I saw one white flake. Then I used long aid activator gel. Applying a fingertip amount in small section smoothing. I spritzed my hair with water and applied a lil more gel using the swooshing technique. I’m not sure if its dry, but my curls are beginning to show.
when I rinsed the eversleek off my hair felt squeaky. So I’m guessing some of the moisture went away. Either that or my water is so hard it really is affecting my hair. That would explain a lot. Also, I just need to remember my hair will never be 100% able to let my fingers go through. I get impatient like I just did that section and now my fingers are still getting stuck. Oh the joy of curly kinks!
I did a fake bantu knot out on my hair. Its too short to actually wrap around itself, so I pinned down the braids in a somewhat bantu knot. The hair it spritzed with water. I didnt do anything today, so I left them in all day. Tomorrow, when I take them out I plan to apply some kinky curly knot today on the dry areas. So especially the ends. Then Thursday, I plan to cowash and go!
I put my hair in 3 ponytails last night, and then placed a satin scarf followed by a bonnet. This morning, I applied Kinky Curly Knot Today to the end and fluffed. And I oiled my scalp with the coconut/lavender oil mixture. Iused too much oil…I was dripping smh. I like the results same as yesterday.
My hair is losing moisture though. So now, I am in search of a daily moisturizer that is CG friendly. I am okay with Kinky Curly Knot Today as a leave in for now.
OAN I returned the Tresemme Naturals (in exchange for Loreal Eversleek Smoothing Conditioner which has glycerin…YES)to Walmart and I didnt feel bad about it at all. A guy in front of me returned a half full gallon of milk….WTF
My braid out has no definition, but I am trying to get the moisture level down first. Plus, its stretched out at the least.
Sorry, no picture from the dried CG method because it never dried. I used way too much ECO styler gel, and my curls werent really defined. I also dont think my hair liked the Tresemme Naturals. It wasnt very moisturized at all. Just crunchy and very wet from the gel in certain areas…like the middle.
The photo above is from another CG experiment. I did a 15 minute pre-poo using VO5 moisture milks and also, rubbed my scalp in circular motions and rinsed. (Its not clean because I got lazy and I know for sure I didnt get all the gel out :\ ) Then I used Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose on my hair to detangle (which wasnt very helpful) I left this on my hair while I washed my body. Then I rinsed and tried something called the accordion method. Im not even posting those pics. The method did not define my curls instead I looked like Florida from Good Times. I applied Kinky Curly Knot Today as a leave in on the nape, sides and crown all in one sweep with about a dollop of products. (Yep I said dollop, and YEP Im from the country…TEXAS lol) The I attempted to shingle a small amount of ECO styler through my hair. And I decided that I didnt want to look crazy, so I just did a braid out using very small amounts of gel per braid. After I finished, I oiled my scalp with cocnut oil (7/8) and lavender oil (1/8). This prevents my scalp from itching and getting any extra build up. I tend to sweat alot in my scalp, and lavender oil prevents bacteria (can also be used for wounds) and coconut oil actually acts as a moisturizer. I left the braids in for about a day. Its tax free weekend here in Texas, so I wore a wig over my braids. And today, I took out my braids. The results from the end of the day are posted above.
I bought a new gel: Long Aid Curl Activator Gel. I know the glycerin will help to pop out my curls. And according to the reviews, it wont leave my hair crunchy and I dont have to use as much like with the ECO styler.
Tresemme Naturals is going to be returned to Walmart tomorrow. Yeps its opened and yep I used it, but I want my money back. Or any even exchange. I truely dont think Walmart cares about return policy anyway….
VO5 moisture milks is definitely my goto co-washing conditioner. Even with the crunchy mess I made from gel, my hair softened upon application of the moisture milk.
I plan to use Aubrey Organics as a deep conditioner maybe twice a month during my bi-weekly bubble baths/soaks. Ladies, soaking in the tub for about 30 minutes with some lavender oil and some good music is a really great way to releive stress and simply have some “me time”.
I am going to try Loreal Ever Sleek as my detangling conditioner.
I am going to try Paul Mitchell the Conditioner, and Burts Bees Baobab Conditioner.
I am also planning to try Oyin Handmade Hair Dew.
I need to LEARN the settings of my camera. Something about aperture and why all of my pictures have way too much light causing the photo to looked washed out.
But for the first time ever, my ends are not all dry and frizzy. I actually dont hate my hair today!
Curly Girl Method Day 3. I skipped Day 2 and wore a wig. I cant do the compact fro. So today. I applied V05 Moisture Milk to my dry hair, and I began to finger detangle. Then I put on a shower cap and let it sit for about 15 minutes. I took the shower cap off, sprayed water and applied more V05 Moisture Milk concentrating on my scalp. I massaged my scalp in circular motons throughout. Then I got in the shower and rinsed thoroughly. I applied Tresemme Naturals to my hair in a downward motion lightly finger detangling where necessary. I let the conditioner sit while I washed my body in the shower. I then rinsed the condition with my hand in a downward motion carefully shaping my hair. Outside of the shower. I immediately applied Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave In onto my sides, back and then the crown, all at once. Then I sectioned and somewhat shingled (not sure if my technique is right) some Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel to my hair. And this is the result. Curlier, YES. But it is not dry…YET. I will post the results tomorrow.
I tried the curly girl method. My hair simply dried into a fro.
I washed my hair with a shampoo for the final time to get rid of the cones. Then I applied Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose, and let it sit for about 15 mins or so while I washed my body in the shower. Then I applied Tressemme Naturals and left it it in. I didnt do anything special. I didnt apply gel And the results are the one with me and my sissies. A compact fro…..
A 3 week braid out. Just kidding. I took my braids down. Here is the outcome.
Surely every woman should feel sexy in the skin they’re in but here are a few pointers to always looking and feeling sexy with your luscious, natural tresses; short or long.
- Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!
For the most part, our hair, as women, is our accessory. Regardless if we are relaxed, texlaxed, texturized, or natural; long, flowing, luscious hair is what gives us our stamp as feminine or girly. We can literally walk around in public with no earrings or makeup and still feel ‘feminine’ with our long hair casually covering our eyes, and gently brushing against our backs. But what happens when we’ve just done the big chop, and there’s no length to ‘validate’ our femininity? Experiment and express your sexy, flirty, and sensual personality with a pair of classy studs, or some glitzy hoops; cute headbands, rings and necklaces are sure to make any plain hairstyle or outfit fiercely amazing!
